These locks where purchased from the local auto parts / hardware store. Most of the is great and very strong until we get to the core and pins. Very poor manufactured pins and the core was sloppy. But these will make great challenge or everyday lock once I beef up the week points!!

totally agree with Michael, great vid and pick, very enjoyable. you get a lot of lock for that price, def great buys. cheers for sharing 🙂
Enjoyed the video very much – thank you!
What a pity to see crappy cores in such nice locks. Hope you can make it more resistant. Very nice picks you are using – guess home made?
Cool video cool Lock body.
Cutting some security pins with a dremel tool should be an quick and easy solution.
Nice Aluminum Pinning Board.
The short shackle GuarD padlock shown in this video is $8 at a hardware/houseware chain in SE Wisconsin, as of February 2017.
I have one of these and found the same issue, terrible core quality. mine looks like they ground the pins with a grinder so they didn’t have to measure the correct size.
Those locks are just good for resisting brute force like a crowbar or sledgehammer.
Like you show, they pick open fairly easily. I just searched on YT for guard locks cause I was just picking the same lock today.
I bought some of these at Big Lots years ago. I tested one with a pair of 30″ bolt cutters and it cut it with a bit of difficulty.
However, it is a 7/16″ shackle.
I tried cutting a master lock 7/16″ boron alloy shackle and couldn’t even cut it with 36″ bolt cutters.
So, the shackle on this Guard lock is not alloy steel.
