Today we’re talking locks…smart locks. I’ll unbox, install and setup an August Smart Lock, 2nd gen. The 2nd gen August Smart Locks are inexpensive (since the release of the 3rd gen Smart Lock Pro) and still a great solution for keyless entry, lock status, and remote access. I’ll talk a bit about the other lock I use in my home, the Schlage Sense, and why I chose that for my front door but keep the details for a future video.
Also, I have hit 500+ subscribers on my way (hopefully) to 1K. THANK YOU ALL for watching, I appreciate all of you! If you’re new, please consider subscribing, it REALLY helps out the channel and myself. THANKS!

Fitting smart locks is on my list of improvements for this year. Thanks for a great review Rey.
Congratulations on breaking the 500 subscribers barrier.
$89.00 shipped !!! Man Rey, where do you live ?.. Great video, want to get one after I viewed you video, but I live in Ontario Canada, and checking them out on Amazon.ca, they are around $300.00 – Ugh….
Another great video Rey! I’ve been debating which lock to go with. Do you find this lock to be clunky? Also, it seems like it grinds metal on metal when turning. Thoughts?
Really cool. Not a big fan of the look of the lock, but the functionality is amazing. You made installation look so easy.
Did you also get the August connect for remote access? Or can you get HomeKit access without it?
Well done video Rey, Thanks
Great video, thanks for the information! I’m looking to buy a smart lock and narrowed it down to the Kwikset and August. I think your video pushed me to go with the August. I like how from the other side it doesn’t look like a smart lock. Now I just need to decide if I spend extra on the 3rd generation.
Great review I’m curious to know why the garage door?
Like number 31. Thanks
